Dr. Jeffrey Sanger was born and raised in Bassett, Nebraska.  After graduating from high school in 1983, he attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln until 1987.  In 1987, he was accepted at the Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Optometry in 1989, and graduated with his Doctor of Optometry degree in May of 1991.

Dr. Sanger began working for Dr. Jerry Vaughan at Prairie Eyecare Center in June of 1991.  He became a partner in Prairie Eyecare Center in January of 1994.  In 2004 Dr. Sanger and Dr. Vaughan entered into a full partnership and formed Prairie Eyecare Center, LLC.  In January 2008 Dr. Sanger purchased Prairie Eyecare Center, PC. 

Dr. Sanger is a member of Beta Kappa Sigma honor fraternity and is currently on the board of directors with Vision Care Direct.  Dr. Sanger is a member of the Broken Bow Elks, and Optimists.  He is also a Past President of the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce.

Jeff is married to Kelly (Hershman), formally of Norfolk, Nebraska.  They have 2 children, Paul and Joelle.  Jeff enjoys golf, hunting, and almost any outdoor activity.  Kelly is currently Prairie Eyecare Center, PC Office Manager.

Dr Melinda K (Wells) Kennel was born in Broken Bow, Nebraska.  After graduating from high school in 1994, she attended Hastings College majored in Music and Pre-Optometry and then transferred to Wayne State College to focus her studies on Pre-Optometry.  She was a member of the Chi Omega Psi sorority and Delta Lambda Delta honorary science fraternity.  In 1998, she was accepted into Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Ocular Science in 1998, and graduated with her Doctor of Optometry degree in May of 2002.

Dr. Kennel joined the Army in April of 2000 and served as a Captain in the Army until June of 2006.  She was recently promoted to Major in the US Army Reserves.  Dr. Kennel served as the Chief of Optometry at Ft. Leavenworth then as the Doctor in Charge at The Eye Doctors in Marysville, Kansas. Dr. Kennel joined Dr. Sanger in August of 2008.  She has worked extensively in Laser vision correction and focuses her practice on pediatrics and contact lenses.

Dr. Kennel is a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion, Lions Club, Nebraska Optometric Association, and PTA.  She is married to Steven Kennel of Polk, Nebraska.  They have two girls, Teagan and Quinlyn.  Dr. Kennel also serves as an assistant gymnastic coach at Jol-Ran Gymnastic Academy.  She enjoys camping, fishing, and hiking with her family.
